Meet Types

Time Trials:

A preseason meet for the Brentwood Dolphin Swimmer only. All Swimmers swim all events for their given age group. The times achieved give the coaching team an initial assessment of everyone’s ability and is used as the entry times for the first meets of the season. This meet is also used to test out all equipment and procedures before the season starts.

Dual Meet:

A meet between two clubs: The Dolphins and one other recreational team. The occur in the evening on a weekday or morning on a Saturday. Swimmers may be scheduled to swim any or all of the dual meets unless they sign-out for a specific meet. If your child is not swimming a specific meet, you are required to sign-out of the meet on our website. The coaches will always assume you are swimming unless you sign-out by the specified deadline.

Invitationals:

Attended by many different teams and run in a different format than dual meets. These can be one or two-day (weekend) meets that you may choose to participate. It is your responsibility to choose the event(s) your child swims. Fees for an invitational are nominal and must be paid when paperwork is turned in to BDSC. There are no refunds once paperwork has been turned in to organizing team.

County Meet:

Those swimmers who achieve a Gold (County) time in one or more events during the swim season may attend this meet. This is the ultimate achievement for a swimmer in the summer season. A swimmer may swim in up to two (2) individual events that they achieved a qualifying time for. If swimmer elects not to participate in this meet, swimmer may not be eligible to receive County Swimmer Awards.
